A scholarly community
The International Society of Somiology is an emerging academic community devoted to the study of understanding as an enacted, biological, and contextual phenomenon.
The Society exists to:
- support scholarly dialogue and collaboration,
- foster interdisciplinary research,
- provide a forum for theoretical, empirical, and design-based work,
- and cultivate shared language and standards within the field.
Participation in the Society does not imply adherence to a doctrine or program. Somiology is approached as a field of inquiry, not a closed system.
As the Society develops, it may support:
- symposia and invited conversations,
- collaborative research initiatives,
- and editorial stewardship of scholarly publications.
